It employs “spectral fingerprint” analysis of the atmosphere using the Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) technique.

    The Quasar 900 consists of a Xenon Flash infrared transmitter and infrared receiver, separated over a line of sight from 23 ft (7m) up to 660 ft (200m) in extremely harsh environments where dust, fog, rain, snow or vibration can cause a high reduction of signal.

    The Quasar 900 transmitter and receiver are both housed in a rugged, stainless steel, ATEX and IECEx approved enclosure. The main enclosure is EExd flameproof with an integral, segregated, EExe increased safety terminal section.

    The hand-held communication unit can be connected in-situ via the intrinsically safe approved data port for prognostic and diagnostic maintenance. The Quasar 900 is approved to FM/FMC per Class I Div 1 Group B, C and D and Class I, II Div 1 Group E, F and G, and ATEX/IECEx per Ex d e ib [ib Gb] IIB + H2 T4 Gb, Ex tb IIIC T135°C Db.

    The GASMAX GX gas monitor is an ideal solution for fixed ambient gas detection applications. The monitor is designed to detect a wide range of toxic and combustible gases in potentially hazardous environments. The monitor operates on +12 to +35 volts DC and outputs an industry standard 4-20mA analog signal. Optional programmable alarm relays and MODBUS serial slave interface allow the GASMAX GX to operate with a wide range of industry devices and system controllers.

    The GASMAX GX supports both local and remote electrochemical, PID, infrared or catalytic bead sensors. Several electrochemical sensors, including hydrogen sulfide and ammonia, are available in low, medium and high ranges.

    In addition to an industry-standard 4-20mA current loop output, an optional RS-485 two-wire MODBUS® interface with optional two SPDT relays are available to communicate with controllers or drive local alarm indicators. When used with the any controller’s MODBUS master port, multiple GASMAX GX monitors can be daisy-chained up to 500m to minimize wiring. A special Modbus Wiring Junction Box option makes it possible to easily create the daisy chain wiring for power and Modbus signal.

    The GASMAX GX can also be fitted with a 900 MHz or 2.4 Ghz radio that will allow it to communicate with compatible GDS Corp wireless controllers and alarm stations.

    The GDS Corp Protector6-RF Wireless System Controller is designed to monitor and alarm on 900 MHz or 2.4 GHz wireless signals from up to six GDS Corp GASMAX MX or GASMAX CS wireless gas monitors, GASMAX GX wired gas monitors (when equipped with optional radio module), GDS-58X signal transmitters or GDS-59X switch state transmitters.

    The Protector6-RF is an ideal solution for small or medium-sized gas detection systems or as a wireless interface for distributed systems that include both wired and wireless monitors. An optional strobe or horn sounder can be installed for real-time local warning indications. The small size allows multiple Protector6-RF units to be installed in the immediate vicinity of monitored areas, giving technicians information on any toxic gas that may be present.

    The Protector6-RF controller includes an RS-485 serial MODBUS output that can allow remote PLCs or DCSs to monitor the selected input channels in real time. An optional WirelessHART module is available that utilizes the MODBUS interface to provide HART connectivity
